Hammaker, 98, of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Duncansville and Tyrone, died Thursday morning, March 30, 1995, at the home. She was born Jan. 16, 1897, in Duncansville, the daughter of Charles Z. and Mary Jane (Brown) Baker. She married Chester E. Hammaker on June 7, 1916, in Duncansville. He died March 16, 1985. Mrs. Hammaker was a member of Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former member of the Friendship Sunday School class. She enjoyed camping until the age of 95. Mrs. Hammaker was a member of the Tyrone Chapter, AARP, and the Tyrone Golden Age Club. Surviving are four daughters: Evelyn Smith of Hollidaysburg, Jane Snare of Harrisburg, Mary Ann Zeigler of Oley and Nancy Heaton of Middletown; a son, Ed of Duncansville; 13 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home, Duncansville. HAMMAKER - Services for Alma E. Hammaker of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church Chapel, by the Rev. Larry H. Louder and Pastor Terryann Talbot-Moses. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville.
