HAMMAKER Formerly engaged in hauling from the Hollidaysburg freight station, died at 11.30 a.m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital, where he was admitted Jan. 17, after a lengthy illness. A native of Altoona, he had formerly resided in Duncansville and more recently at Huntingdon RD 2. He was born Jan. 4, 1895, a son of Harry and Carrie (Fleck) Hammaker, and on June 7, 1916, in Duncansville, married Alma Baker. Surviving are his wife, five children, Mrs. Evelyn Smith of Tyrone, Mrs. Jane Baker and Edward of Duncansville, Mrs. Mary Ann Zeigler of the city and Mrs. Nancy Heaton of Hershey; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters, Mrs. Grace Keiser of McVeytown, Mrs. Mary Diehl of Portage, Frank and Herbert of Hollidaysburg, Charles of Altoona, John of California and Christopher of Harrisburg. He attended the Altoona Bible Church. Friends will be received in the Barefoot Funeral Home, East Freedom, after 7 p.m. today. Altoona Mirror, March 16, 1965
