Hammond, Esq., who died at Franklin Forge, on the evening of the 4th inst. The deceased was born in Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, March 6th 1800. In 1806 he removed to Washington county, this State, and in 1810 to this county, and resided here ever since. Early in life he attached himself to the Methodist Episcopal church of which he remained an humble, consistent and devout member to the day of his death. He was universally esteemed as an honest, upright citizen and christian gentleman. The Register, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, November 15, 1871
