MRS. BERTHA M. HANKS

Of Cedar St., Sylvan Hills, Hollidaysburg, died at her home at 12.30 
p.m. yesterday, after an extended illness. She was born in Altoona on 
June 22, 1900, a daughter of Henry and Bertha (Brown) Russell, and 
married Ray E. Hanks in Cumberland, Md., on Oct. 10, 1919. Surviving 
are her husband, five children, Mrs. Helen Dell and Mrs. Shirley Hoover 
of Duncansville, Mrs. Betty Hoover of Cross Keys, Robert E. of Ambler 
and Donald A. of Hatfield, 13 grandchildren, a sister and brother, Mrs. 
Ruth Koontz and Clarence E. of Altoona, a half-sister and half-brother, 
Mrs. Charlotte Slagle of Bellemead and Edward Russell of the city. 
Friends will be received in the Liebegott Funeral Home, Duncansville, 
from 7 to 10 p.m. today.
