He was born in Philipsburg Oct. 27, 1895, a son of Miles and Clara (Fink) Harkless, and on Aug. 27, 1919, married Olive Fink. Surviving are his wife, the following children: Irvin and Jack of Altoona, Mrs. Jean Kasun of State College, and Robert W. at home; six grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Grace Bartley of Altoona, and one brother, C. F. Harkless of Monterey, Calif. He was a mechanic for Tank Truck Rentals, Duncansville; a veteran of World War I, cavalry; member of Loyal Order of Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles, both of Altoona. Friends will be received at the Laughlin funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, November 9, 1951
