LOUISE JANE HARNDEN Mrs. Louise Jane Harnden, wife of John B. Harnden, assessor in the Tenth ward and retired railroad employe, died suddenly at her home, 120 East Sixth avenue, yesterday morning shortly after 7 o'clock, of apoplexy. One month ago she suffered a slight stroke and was bedfast for four days. Tuesday evening she again suffered a stroke but under treatment of Dr. A. O. Taylor she rallied and was considerably improved before retiring shortly after 10 o'clock. At 2 o'clock Wednesday morning she awakened and went down stairs. Upon returning to bed she conversed with her husband and quickly fell asleep. She was found dead when Mr. Harnden awoke at 7 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Harnden were wedded on July 27 last, in this city. She was a native of New York state, being born on February 8, 1850, in Ladentown, N.Y. Her maiden name was Miss Louise Orville Smith. She was first married to Orville Gray, who died a number of years ago. She was a resident of this city for more than twenty-five years. Mrs. Harnden was a member of the Simpson Methodist Episcopal church, and was ever active in the work of the church. A sister, Mrs. Mary Condrin, of this city, die one month ago. The funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon from the home, services to be conducted at 2 o'clock, by Rev. C. W. Winey, pastor of the Second United Brethren church, assisted by Rev. B. T. Rue, pastor of the Simpson church. Interment will following in the Oak Ridge cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, January 4, 1917
