MRS. ELLEN HARNEY.

  At ten minutes of 11 o'clock Sunday morning Mrs. Ellen Harney, widow 
of William Harney, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret 
Casey, in Bennington.  Her death was caused by diseases incident to 
age, she being 66 years old.  Mrs. Harney was born in Limerick, 
Ireland, and came to this country when about 14 years of age.  When she 
passed through Altoona first there were but three houses here.  Her 
husband died in 1893.  Beside the daughter at whose residence she died, 
she leaves one son, Joseph P. Harney, and one daughter, Miss Hannah, 
both of this city.  Mrs. Harney was a member of St. Patrick's Roman 
Catholic church, of Gallitzin.  Her remains will be taken to that 
church on Wednesday morning, where services will be held at 9 o'clock.  
Interment will follow in St. Patrick's cemetery.
