HARPSTER Of 2829 5th Av., died at his home at 5:22 p.m. yesterday, following an extended illness. He was born at Geeseytown on March 30, 1891, a son of Jonathan and Elsie (Smith) Harpster, and was twice married. His first wife, the former Alice Bennett, preceded him in death. Surviving are his second wife, the former Alice L. (Jones) Seidel; four children, Mrs. Loretta Tilbrook of New Holland, Joseph of Riverdale, Md., Mrs. Martha Fyfe of Hyattsville, Md., and Robert of Altoona, four stepchildren, William J. and Robert W. Seidel, Mrs. Jean Warner and Mrs. Doris Berryman, all of Altoona, 16 grandchildren, one great- grandchild, a step-sister, Mrs. Paul Sellers, and a stepbrother, Dean DeHaven, both of Altoona. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Elks and was employed as a machinist in the airbrake shop of the P.R.R., retiring in 1957 with 52 years of service.
