HARPSTER Richard James Harpster, age 56, of 1459 Logan Avenue, Tyrone, died at 6 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Altoona Hospital. He was born June 10, 1946 in Tyrone, a son of the late William Sanford and Velma Rebecca (Mattern) Harpster. He never married. He is survived by a brother and two sisters: Eugene C. (Jane) Harpster, Ella R. Harpster and Ruth L. Harpster all of Tyrone. There are several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great- nephews and a sister-in-law Alice Mattern of Huntingtown, Md., all survive. He was a member of the Tyrone First Assembly of God Church. He retired as a forklift operator after three years at Smith Transport in Roaring Spring and was formerly employed at Seabrook Blanching, tyrone for 26 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Tyrone with Rev. P. William Glunt officiating. Interment will follow at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. and one hour before the service on Thursday.
