The death of Miss Anna Mary Harris, a former highly respected and esteemed resident and native of Williamsburg, occurred at her late home at Grafton, Huntingdon county, last week, the funeral taking place Friday at the old stone church, in Woodcock valley. She had attained her 84th year and for the past three years had been confined to her bed as the result of a dislocated hip joint. She was a daughter of the late Colonel J. S. P. Harris and her mother, a Miss Burns, was a member of the old Burns family who originally owned the tract of land between Hollidaysburg and Altoona, near Canan's station, from whom the Pennsylvania railroad secured its right of way. She was a Christian woman of intelligence and refinement and will be lovingly remembered by three generations of one-time youths as the old fashioned lady who conducted "Aunt Ann's Kindergarten," an institution which nurtured, intellectually, in their cradle days many who now adorn the higher walks of life. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McHenry, of Grafton. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday morning, February 28, 1917
