Hart, 74, of 601 Newry Lane, Duncansville, died at 12:14 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1994, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, following a brief illness. Mr. Hart retired as manager from the industrial engineering department of Conrail in 1982, after 41 years' service. He was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Altoona, the son of Clarence M. and Hazel P. (McMinn) Hart. He married Merilynn Blankenship on Jan. 15, 1944, in Chico, Calif. Surviving are his wife, three daughters: Marsha Fisher and Rebecca Rowe of Lancaster and Linda Weber of Chantilly, Va., and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Kathleen Hamer and Virginia Stere of Altoona. Mr. Hart was a life member of First Church of Christ, where he was chairman of the church board, and served as an elder, deacon and Bible School teacher. He was also a member of Logan Lodge, F&AM, Scottish Rite, Jaffa Temple, Shriners Bowling League and the Sylvan Hills Golf Club, where he was one of the organizers of the church golf league. Mr. Hart was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a fighter pilot with the Army Air Corps in the European Theater. He was a 1937 graduate of Altoona High School. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home, and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of Christ. HART - Services for Robert G. Hart of 601 Newry Lane, Duncansville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at The First Church of Christ, Good Shepard Road, by the Rev. John Collins, assisted by the Rev. Carl Alexander. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Daniel R. Myers Funeral Home, and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the building fund of The First Church of Christ, Good Shepard Road.
