Mrs. Jane Hartman Dies of Heart Disease Yesterday. Mrs. Jane Hartman, wife of Mr. Eli Hartman, residing at 2404 Maple avenue, died suddenly of heart disease at her home between the hours of 2 and 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. At 2 o'clock Miss Annie Hartman, daughter of the deceased, left her mother in her usual health, and came in to the city for the purpose of doing some shopping, and did not return home until after 3 o'clock. On going into the summer kitchen built over the pump she discovered her mother on the floor with a gash cut in her forehead, just above the right eye, caused, it is supposed by her striking her head on a crock when she fell. The young lady immediately notified her father, who was sleeping, and a physician was summoned, but nothing could be done. Mrs. Hartman was in the 38th year of her age, and besides her husband she leaves four children, who are Mrs. Lucy Paxson, of No. 2510 Chestnut avenue, and Annie, William and John, living at home. Upon being notified of the death Coroner Glenn proceeded to the scene and impannelled the following jury: M. O. Cunningham, John Kimmell, E. A. Hite, John Boist, John McClellan and D. C. Womer. After viewing the remains and taking testimony from the members of the family and from a physician, the jury returned a verdict that death was caused by heart disease.
