Miller Died in the Altoona Hospital. At the Altoona hospital at 8.30 o'clock Saturday morning Jerry Hay, a well known resident of Bellwood, died of bronchial pneumonia. Mr. Hay had been a sufferer for fully a year. The amputation of a finger last January, caused blood poison, which undermined his strength and made him an easy pretty to the fatal disease. He was born in Paris, France, December 7, 1851, and was aged at death 58 years and 24 days. Thirty-six years ago he came to this country and for sixteen years his home was in Bellwood. He was a bricklayer by trade and followed that occupation when in his usual health. During his residence in Bellwood, he had won for himself many friends who mourn his death in the very prime of life. Two daughters survive him, Mrs. Edwin Wiley, of Bellwood, and Mrs. Frank Miller, of Tyrone. The funeral service will be held at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Wiley, on North First street. It will be in charge of the local tent of the Knights of the Order of Tented Maccabees of which Mr. Hay was a charter member and also the first commander. Interment in Logan Valley cemetery.
