Heiss, of the Boycott apartments, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday of acute dilation of the heart. He was aged 64 years and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Heiss, and by two daughters, Mrs. H. V. Spangler, of Philadelphia, and Marian, at home, as well as several brothers and sisters residing in middle western states. He was well known in business circles, having been engaged in the wholesale distribution of creamery butter in this and adjoining counties. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, this city. The body may be viewed from 7 to 9:30 p.m. this evening at the home, and private funeral services will be held tomorrow. The burial will take place at Planefield, Ill., his former home. Altoona Tribune, Monday morning, September 2, 1918, page 2
