Heller, a Pennsylvania railroad conductor, was killed at Huntingdon on Saturday about noon. He was throwing a switch to shift some cars from his train to a siding, when main line express, eastbound, came along unnoticed and struck him. Death was instantaneous. The remains were taken to his home at Altoona. Mr. Heller was the son of George and Isabella Heller, and was born at Rockhill, Huntingdon county, June 26, 1842. He had resided in Altoona and vicinity for a period of thirty-two years, all of which time he had been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad company. Mr. Heller was a member of the First Evangelical church and of the Pennsylvania railroad relief. He served during the civil war as a member of Battery A, Fourth United States artillery. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Harry T. and Mrs. Oliver Bain, both of Juniata, and by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mary Tate, of McKeesport; Mrs. Lucy Wisotzkey, of Williamsport, and Augustus Heller, of Altoona. The funeral took place Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, services being held at the late home of the deceased. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., December 4, 1902
