He was born Feb. 18, 1855, near Newry. His wife died thirty years ago. He is survived by two sons and one daughter, Forest E. Helsel of Pittsburgh, Howard M. Helsel of Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Hulda L. LeCrone of Eldorado. Also surviving are one brother, Samuel Helsel of Pittsburgh and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Beegle of Duncansville, and fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Helsel was a member of the Zion Lutheran church of Hollidaysburg. Friends are being received at the home of a son, Howard M. Helsel, 802 Jones street, with whom he had resided for some time. HELSEL - The funeral of Alexander Helsel of Hollidaysburg will be held from the Zion Lutheran church with services Saturday at 2.30 in charge of Rev. M. Stanley Kemp. Interment follows in the Newry Lutheran cemetery. Friends are being received at the Howard M. Helsel home at 802 Jones street, Hollidaysburg at any time. Altoona Mirror, November 19, 1942
