He was born in Claysburg Oct. 31, 1868, a son of George and Sarah (Claar) Helsel, and married Miss Mollie Walter of Claysburg May 1, 1894. Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. J. E. Kurtz of Claysburg and Mrs. Earle Dively of Baltimore, Md.; two grandsons, one great-granddaughter and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Della Heuston and Irvin Helsel of Roaring Spring, Austin, Mrs. Laura Hess, Mrs. Elizabeth Bush and Mrs. Pearl Bechtel, all of Hollidaysburg. He was a retired employe of the General Refractories company, Claysburg, and a member of the Evangelical Reformed church, Claysburg. Friends will be received at the Carn funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. HELSEL - Funeral services for Calvin Helsel of Claysburg, will be held Wednesday at 2.30 p.m., in the Carn funeral home in charge of Rev. Joseph Steinert. Interment in Reformed cemetery, Claysburg.
