All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ JOHN "MYNIE" HELSEL Of 511 Coleridge Ave., formerly of 1511 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg, where he served as a barber for some 50 years, retiring three years ago, died at 11:50 p.m. yesterday, March 30, 1971, in Mercy Hospital, where he was admitted early Monday morning. He was born in Hollidaysburg May 1, 1900, a son of Samuel B. and Anna Mae (Eicholtz) Helsel. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leona McDermitt, with whom he resided; one grandson and two brothers and a sister, R. Edgar, Blair M. and Mrs. Marguerite Kimberling of Hollidaysburg. Mr. Helsel was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Foot of Ten Bible Church and a life member of the Phoenix Fire Company, Hollidaysburg. Friends will be received in the Plank Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Altoona Mirror, March 31, 1971
