All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ Mrs. Margaret Helsel Mrs. Margaret Helsel, an old and highly respected resident of the county, died at 10:55 o'clock yesterday morning of diseases resultant to old age at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth G. Dodson, 1509 East Allegheny street. She had been in good health for one of her age and was able to go about freely and had only been ill a week. Deceased was born on May 23, 1837, at Freedom township and was a daughter of John and Rachael Feathers. She had been a resident of Hollidaysburg for the past twenty years and her husband, John Helsel, died on December 24, 1899. Mrs. Helsel was a consistent member of the Lutheran church of Hollidaysburg, and a good Christian woman who was held in high esteem by all who knew her. She was the mother of ten children, five of whom are living. They are Henry and Austin Helsel, of Duncansville; Mrs. Rachael Otto, Mrs. Elizabeth G. Dodson and Simon, all of Hollidaysburg. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Ann Feathers, who is aged 86 years and resides at East Freedom, and by 29 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at the Dodson home on East Allegheny street at 1:30 o'clock on Friday afternoon.
