THORNTON L. HELSEL

Of East Freedom RD, died at *:30 a.m. yesterday in the Altoona 
Hospital. He was born Sept. 15, 1891, at Duncansville, a son of Peter 
W. and Anna (Clark) Helsel, and married Mary Ellen Nossker on March **, 
1925. Surviving are his wife, two children, Carl L. of East Freedom RD 
and Mrs. Lois Pletenyik* of Trenton, N.J.; three grandchildren, a 
sister, Mrs. Sadie Feathers of Claysburg, and a brother, Elmer of 
Rochester, N.Y. He was a member of the Smith Corner Mennonite Church, 
and was a former General Refractories employe, retiring in 1957. 
Friends will be received at the Thompson Funeral Home, Roaring Spring, 
from 7 to 10 p.m. today and 2 to 10 p.m. tomorrow.
