Herlt, age 68, of 270 Tony Circle, Mantua, NJ and a former Tyrone resident died Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Underwood Memorial Hospital, Woodbury, NJ. He was born March 5, 1938 in Tyrone, the son of Leo and Mina Ellenberger Herlt and on June 13, 1959 was married to Carol Ann Clark who preceded him in death on May 11, 1969. He is survived by two daughters, Christine Hartsock and Julie Garman and a great grandson Zachary Woodall. Also surviving are three sisters: Shirley Nixon of Altoona; Joanna Fish of New Jersey and Janet, wife of James Grannas of Bellwood. He was a graduate of Tyrone High School Class of 1957 and retired as purchasing agent from Raedy Pac of New Jersey. While in Tyrone he was employed by Gardner Importing Co. Funeral Mass for James L. Herlt will be Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church with Father Joseph T. Orr officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions in his memory are requested to the American Lung Association, 209 East Beaver Avenue, State College, PA 16801.
