HESS

  Mrs. Laura B. Hess of 2023 Fifth avenue died early yesterday morning 
at her home of heart disease.  She was the wife of Frank Hess and was 
born on Feb. 20, 1870 and has been a resident of this city for the past 
17 years.  She was a daughter of John K. and Leah B. Johnson, deceased.  
Surviving are her husband, one son, Corporal Arthur M. Hess, with the 
United States engineers, general military railways unit in France, and 
one daughter, Mrs. Lena Cohen of Cumberland, Md., and one sister, Mrs. 
Alice Zerby of Altoona.  She was a member of the Reformed church of 
Marklesburg.

FUNERAL NOTICES

  The funeral of Mrs. Laura Hess will be conducted at the house, 2023 
Fifth avenue on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Interment in Oak 
Ridge cemetery.
