MRS. LAURA HESS

Died in Valley View Home at 11.25 p.m. yesterday after an extended 
illness. She was born at Claysburg Aug. 21, 1879, a daughter of George 
and Sarah (McIntosh) Helsel, and was married to J. Edward Hess, who 
died May 29, 1935. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dessa Bigelow of 
Hollidaysburg; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and the 
following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Della Heuston and Irvin Helsel of 
Roaring Spring, Austin Helsel of Woodbury, Mrs. Elizabeth Bush and Mrs. 
Pearl Bechtel of Hollidaysburg. She was a member of the First Methodist 
Church, Hollidaysburg, and the Sunshine Circle of the Women's Society 
of Christian Service. Friends will be received at the Bigelow Funeral 
Home after 7 p.m. today.
