Mrs. Jane Myers Hesser, of 2522 Broad avenue, widow of late Harry L. Hesser, former ticket agent at Altoona, died at 6:30 Sunday evening at the Clearfield hospital. Mrs. Hesser was admitted two weeks ago and on Saturday underwent a successful operation for goiter. But the condition of her system was such that she could not stand the shock. Mrs. Hesser was a daughter of William and Sarah Myers and was born at Tyrone 51 years ago. Thirty-three years ago she was married to Harry L. Hesser, who passed away two years ago. Surviving are two children - Mrs. Carey Bradin, of Tyrone, and Miss Helen at home; also three sisters - Mrs. Sarah McLanahan, Miss Carrie and Mrs. Mary Swartz, all of Tyrone. She was a devoted member of the Presbyterian church, always active in the various branches of church work. Her beautiful Christian spirit made her ever ready to lend a helping hand or speak a kind word, and her passing away will be mourned by many. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Altoona Tribune, June 3, 1918, page 2 FUNERAL NOTICE The remains of the late Mrs. Jane Myers Hesser, whose death was announced in yesterday's issue, were brought to Tyrone and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Sarah McLanahan, on Logan avenue, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Heltman, pastor of the Broad Avenue Presbyterian church, Altoona, assisted by Rev. Bieber, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Tyrone. Interment in Grand View cemetery.
