D. D. Higgins, 

An old resident of the Eighth ward, died at 2:45 o'clock this morning, 
at his home, 46 Third avenue, after an illness of four months.  The 
deceased was born at Mt. Taylor, Washington county, Maryland, January 
23, 1856, and was 38 years, 5 months and 5 days of age.  On September 
19, 1880, he married Miss Eliza C. Winters, who survives to mourn her 
loss.  He was a member of the Trinity Reformed church and of Mountain 
City lodge, I.O.O.F., Mystic Castle, A.O.K. of M.C., Washington Camp, 
P.O.S. of A.   The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
