Hildebrand Dies at Home of His Son in Tyrone. Augustus A. Hildebrand, aged 78 years, died at the home of his son, John W. Hildenbrand, on West Fifteenth street at 2.15 o'clock Saturday afternoon, February 2, 1907, of nervous prostration. The aged gentleman, since the death of his wife seven years ago, had made his home with his children in Bellwood and Tyrone. Two weeks ago he came to his son's home here. He was ailing somewhat then, and the next day after his arrival he became seriously ill, his decline thereafter being rapid and resulting in his demise. The fatal attack was attributed to the natural infirmities of his advanced age. Augustus Alambert Hildebrand was born December 22, 1828, at Mapleton. In his boyhood his family removed to McConnelstown where he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Coder. The deceased was a carpenter by occupation, and after leaving McConnelstown, resided successively at Alexandria, Barree, Birmingham, Charlottesville, Tipton and Pinecroft, his wife having died at the last named place January 22, 1900. Of their nine children, seven survive the death of their father. These are: Mrs. Kate Dickson, Elizabeth Furnace; Mrs. Emma VanScoyoc, Bellwood; John W., Mrs. Annie Davison, Robert, Tyrone; George, Bellwood; and Miss Bertha, Altoona. The deceased leaves no brothers nor sisters. He was an exemplary citizen and a godly man, as well as a devoted husband and father. For fifty years, a member of the Methodist church, he lived in faithful accord with his Christian profession. Rev. William R. Picken, pastor of the Columbia Avenue Methodist church, conducted the funeral services at the home of John W. Hildebrand, on West Fifteenth street, at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Interment at Charlottsville cemetery. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., Thursday, February 7, 1907
