Hite, was killed at the saw mill of Louis Plack, on the Allegheny mountain several days ago. He leaves a large family. The Register, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, June 11, 1873 A Terrible Death. Mr. John M. Hite, lately of this city, who was engaged on a saw mill of Louis Plack, located about seven miles from this place on the "Dry Gap road," while oiling some machinery of the saw mill was caught in the fly wheel and carried around several times so seriously injuring him that he died within a short time after the occurrence. He suffered fearfully and his body was frightfully mutilated. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss. Three years ago Mr. Hite fell from a building in this city, breaking his leg which injury he never fully recovered from. About fourteen months ago he had a son killed on the N.C.R.R. and another one who came very near losing his life by a fall from a scaffold at the new wing of the Logan House, this city.
