ELIZABETH M. HITESHEW 

Wife of Alton E. Hiteshew of 1412 Sixteenth avenue, died at 10.15 
o'clock this morning at Mercy hospital where she had been a patient 
since Jan. 13. She was born in Indiana June 11, 1885, a daughter of 
John and Esther Scanlon, but had resided in Hollidaysburg and Altoona 
for the past 30 years. Surviving are her husband, one son, Royal A. of 
Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren, and two brothers, John Scanlon of 
Butler and Michael of Johnstown. A daughter, Mrs. Olive Mae Johnson, 
died in March, 1940. Mrs. Hiteshew was a member of the First Baptist 
church and Sunday school. Friends may call after 7 o'clock Saturday 
evening at the Lafferty funeral home.
