HOFFER Of 415 West First street, Williamsburg, died last evening at 6.35 o'clock at the J. C. Blair Memorial hospital; Huntingdon, after suffering a stroke of apoplexy yesterday morning at 10.30 o'clock while at work in the finishing department of the West Virginia Pulp & Paper company, Williamsburg. He was born in Miller township, Huntingdon county, Feb. 15, 1880, a son of Martin and Cathryn (Benson) Hoffer. He was married Oct. 23, 1900, to Carrie DeArmitt, who died eight years ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte M. Walls of Port Royal, Pa,; one son, Walter S. Hoffer of Williamsburg, R. D.; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry Hoffer of Neffs Mills, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Couch of Alexandria. Mr. Hoffner [sic] was a member of the Baptist church of Corn Crops Mills and the CIO United Paper Makers of America and had been employed in the Williamsburg paper mill for the past 25 years. Friends will be received at the Friedline funeral home, Williamsburg, after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, June 2, 1950
