Hoffman, widely known former resident of the Morrisons cove section and former proprietor of Hoffman Mills, near Waterside, died at 6:20 o'clock this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John F. Loose, at Martinsburg. He resided for some time past with a daughter, Mrs. Howard D. Loose, at 813 Fifty-eighth street, and he left the Altoona home several days ago to visit at Martinsburg. Mr. Hoffman was a native of Woodbury, being born on August 29, 1856. He was married on December 25, 1877, to Miss Cathryn Replogle at New Enterprise, his wife dying on August 16, 1937, since which time he had resided with the daughter in Altoona. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Howard W. Loose of Altoona, Lloyd R. Hoffman of Roaring Spring, Mrs. John F. Loose of Martinsburg and Daniel B. Hoffman of York. Eleven grandchildren, including Attorney Park H. Loose, assistant Blair county district attorney, and one great-grandchild, also one sister, Mrs. Barbara Hare of Roaring Spring, also survive. Mr. Hoffman was a member of the First Brethren church of Martinsburg. Funeral services will be held from the Loose home, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. Stanley Hauser, pastor of the First Brethren church. Interment will be made in the Keagy cemetery at Woodbury. Hoffman, a former resident of Morrison's Cove, died April 7 at his home in Martinsburg. A native of Woodbury, he was born Aug. 29, 1856, and married to Catherine Replogle, who died in August, 1937. He was formerly proprietor of the Hoffman Mills near Waterside. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home in Altoona, conducted by Rev. Stanley Hauser of the First Brethren Church, and the body conveyed to Woodbury, where interment was made in the Keagy cemetery. Hoffman of 813 Fifty-eighth street, who died at Martinsburg this morning, will be held from the residence of a daughter, Mrs. John F. Loose, of Martinsburg. Services will be held Saturday at 2.30 o'clock in charge of Rev. Stanley F. Hauser, First Brethren pastor. Interment in the Keagy cemetery, Woodbury.
