Hoffman, 78, of 212 E. 12th St., Tyrone, died at 5:20 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004 at Bon Secours-Holy Family Hospital. She was born March 19, 1926 at Pemberton, PA a daughter of Elmer and LeFaye H. (Gensimore) Patterson. She was married March 28, 1947 at Bellwood, PA to Leonard R. "Ike" Hoffman who died December 30, 1997. Surviving are five children: Sharon M. O'Neill (Ken) of N. Lauderdale, Florida; David R. Hoffman, Sr. (Barbara J.) of RD 3, Tyrone; Brenda J. Patton (Peter) of Tyrone; Jon L. Hoffman (Lisa) of RD 3, Tyrone and Julie K. Cody (Scott) of Houston, Texas. Ten grandchildren: David R. Hoffman, Jr., Erin Wudarzewski, Tara O'Neill, Kristan Patton, Kyle Patton, Kayla Patton, Jon W. Hoffman, Jessica Hoffman, Cameron R. Cody and Cooper E. Cody. One great grandson: Thaddeus Wudarzewski. Sister: Vivian Snyder of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Robertson and a brother, Edward G. Patterson, Sr. She was a member of the Tyrone Christ United Methodist Church, 50 years, where she was active in the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, and taught pre-school Sunday School for 30 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Tyrone Hospital Auxiliary and Epworth Manor Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for family and friends and did baby-sitting for many years. She was employed for the past 14 years at the Tyrone Elementary School in the Green Thumb Program as a Clerical Aide, and previously at Big Yank Corp., the Tyrone Shoe Factory and Erie Tech at State College. Funeral services were held Monday, May 3, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, with Dr. Dennis N. Reedy officiating. Interment followed at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Twp.
