Mrs. Hogemyer was formerly employed as a substitute teacher by the Altoona Area School District. She was born Sept. 23, 1910, in Altoona, the daughter of William Blair and Bertha Elvira (Mitchell) Cassidy, and Sept. 23, 1937, in Altoona, married Harry B. Hogemyer, who died March 22, 1968. Surviving are two daughters: Judith Ann Calvert of Altoona and Sandra Lee Anderson of Pittsburgh, three grandchildren and a great- grandson. Also surviving is a sister, Janet Ann Replogle of Altoona. Mrs. Hogemyer was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Lutheran Women's Sunday School class. She was also a member of St. Paul Craft Group, and former member of First Lutheran Rebecca Circle and Grace Effinger Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights Templar, Altoona Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Jobel Court, Jobel Band, Jobel Sunbeams, Daughters of the Nile, Altoona Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Altoona Hospital Women's Auxiliary Crafts, Altoona Hospital Gift Shop Volunteers, Heidelburg Country Club, Allegheny Lutheran Home Ladies Auxiliary and Craft Volunteers, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Blair County Lawyers Wives, and AARP. Mrs. Hogemyer was a charter member of Reserve Officers Association Ladies Auxiliary, serving as past president and past treasurer. She attended Bucknell University, Pittsburgh University and Altoona Campus of Penn State University. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Warren H. Replogle Funeral Home. HOGEMYER - Services for Gladys L. Hogemyer of 2503 Quail Ave. will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Warren H. Replogle Funeral Home, by the Rev. Walter J. Emswiler. Interment at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Warren H. Replogle Funeral Home. She is also survived by a niece, Laura Lee Replogle Howsare of Altoona.
