Holden, 913 Jefferson Avenue, died at 4:30 a.m. today at the Tyrone Hospital following a brief illness. He had been admitted Thursday. He was born September 26,1893, at Curwensville, the son of Horace Stanley and Mary (Shaffer) Holden. He was married February 14, 1918, at Tyrone, to the former Pauline Jones. He is survived by his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Samuel (Cathryn) Wolfe, Sunbury; Mrs. Ralph (Winifred) Snyder Marsh, Altoona, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Alex Holden, preceded him in death. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and of the Stine Bible Class of the church. He was a member of Tyrone Lodge 494 F. & A. M., Williamsport Consistory, Jaffa Shrine of Altoona, and the Tyrone Shrine Club. He retired in 1958, after 49 years with the Pennsylvania Railroad Company as a machinist in the East Altoona Shops, after which he was a security guard for 14 years at the Tyrone plant of Chicago Rivet and Machine Co. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Getz & Searer Funeral Home, with the Reverend Frederick O. Dickerson officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Tyrone. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
