He was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England, on Feb. 24, 1856, a son of James and Elizabeth (Culshaw) Holt. He was twice married, first to Elizabeth Hartley, who died in 1904, and in 1905 to Mary Ann Hartley, who survives, along with two sons and four daughters born to his first marriage, James Holt of Pitcairn, Edward, Mrs. Hannah Irwin, Mrs. Elizabeth Clark, Mrs. Sarah Lasher and Mrs. Lillie Hicks, all of the city; seventeen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters, Fred Holt, Mrs. Ada Craddock and Mrs. Lillie Crook, all of England. Mr. Holt was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal church and the P.R.R. Veterans' association. Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's church at 2.30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
