Hooper, of 2007 First avenue, died at 4.30 p.m. Saturday, of a complication of diseases, at his home. He was a barber and conducted a shop at 917 Chestnut avenue. He worked as usual Friday, but was stricken ill that evening. He was born in this city on November 21, 1875, and was the son of George P. and Mary Hooper, both deceased. He resided in this city all his life. He was educated at the Webster school and engaged in the tonosorial business with his father at his late stand. On January 17th, 1906, he was wedded to Miss Anna M. Ormes, this city, who survives with three children, Cornelia M., Mary Elizabeth and Margaret L. Two sisters, Mrs. Cornelia Jones and Mrs. Mary Lewis, both of Harrisburg, survive. Hooper was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist church, the Odd Fellows and was past master in Patriarchs Militant, No. 128. Funeral services will be held at the church tomorrow at 2.30 p.m. Burial in Eastern Light cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Monday, January 13, 1919, page 2
