The many friends of Mr. James J. Hoover in Hollidaysburg and Williamsburg will be sorry to learn of the death of his wife, which sad event occurred at Massilon, O., on Tuesday, October 3. The maiden name of his wife was Emma C. Smith, and she was born near Massilon in 1861. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and prominent in religious work. She had been a sufferer from brain trouble and death is supposed to have been due to a rupture of a blood vessel. Her husband and three children survive. Mr. Hoover is a native of Williamsburg and learned his trade as a printer in the office of the Hollidaysburg Register. Later he and his father located in the state of Ohio and for many years published the Massilon American. Morning Tribune, Tuesday, October 10, 1899
