Hoover, editor and publisher of the Canal Fulton (Ohio) Signal, died suddenly at this home during the early part of the month. Mr. Hoover was the son of the late Samuel Hoover, who was elected treasurer of Blair county in 1856, and who, with his son P. W. Hoover was editor of the Hollidaysburg Register for several years. James J. Hoover learned the art preservative of all arts in the Register office. Years ago the family removed to Massillon, Ohio, where the father and James J. purchased the Massillon American. For several years the latter conducted the Canal Fulton Signal. He was a man of more than ordinary ability, and was born in Williamsburg about 70 years ago.
