TRIBUNE: On December 19, 1890, death again entered the family circle of Franklin J. and Dessa G. Hoover, of Piney Creek, and claimed for its victim this time their little son, James Snyder Hoover, aged 2 years and 3 days. Poor little Jamie (as he was usually called) was a bright jewel in the eyes of his parents, who twenty-four hours before his death never dreamed that in so short a time their child would be snatched away from their embrace to the embrace of that dear, loving Saviour, who doeth all things well. But such is life. Little Jamie was apparently in good health until Sunday about noon, when he took a very sudden attack of membraneous croup, of which he died in less than twenty hours in spite of all that could be done by medical skill. This is the third little one that Mr. and Mrs. Hoover have given up at the call of the Savior, and while it seems hard to part with the dear little ones we say weep not, dear friends, for the little ones have gone to a better and brighter world, where there will be no more sorrow, pain or death. May we all so live that we can one day join the little ones in heaven, where there will be no more parting. Funeral services on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. Sheeder, of Williamsburg. Interment at Royer. W. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday, January 6, 1891
