She was born at Beavertown Aug. 23, 1871, the daughter of B. Frank and Sarah (Fouse) Hoover. Surviving are two sisters and one brother, Mrs. Albert B. Miller of Roaring Spring, Mrs. Simon H. Lear of Blairsville and Adam I. Hoover of Elgin, Ill., and a number of nieces and nephews. Miss Hoover was a retired school teacher. She began her teaching work in 1902 and retired from the Hollidaysburg High school in 1929. She taught 11 terms in the Blair county schools. Miss Hoover also taught at German township High school, McClellandtown. She attended Shippensburg Normal school and Pennsylvania State college, majoring in domestic science and home economics. She was a member of Christ Evangelical and Reformed church, Roaring Spring. Friends will be received at the Hite Brothers funeral home, Roaring Spring, after 7 o'clock this evening. HOOVER - Funeral services of Minnie Fouse Hoover, formerly of 723 Walnut street, Roaring Spring, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hite Brothers funeral home in charge of Rev. John H. Erhart. Interment in Fairview cemetery, Martinsburg. Friends will be received at the Hite Brothers funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening. Altoona Mirror, December 3, 1948
