Philip Hoover, an aged resident of the seventh ward, was found dead in his bed Thursday, having died of apoplexy about 4.30 o'clock. The deceased was born November 25, 1809, and was aged 89 years, 6 months and 1 day at death. He was born in Fulton county and most of his life was spent at Cove Forge, Blair county. Since October last he has been a resident of Tyrone. He was a member of the Lutheran church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Matilda R. Hoover, and the following children: John and Philip, Parker City; James, New Castle; Andrew, Thomas, Ruth, Margaret, Hattie, Mattie, of Tyrone. On account of the sudden death Coroner McCartney was summoned from Altoona but he deemed an inquest unnecessary. The funeral was held from the late home of the deceased at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. V. T. Rue officiating. Interment in Tyrone cemetery.
