HOOVER Of 118 Willow Ave., died unexpectedly at 12:55 a.m. today in the Altoona Hospital, where he was admitted shortly before. He was born at Hannah Furnace Sept. 17, 1894, a son of Philip and Mary (Beckwith) Hoover, and married Lucy Smith in Port Matilda Dec. 31, 1914. Surviving are his wife, three children, Mrs. Robert Rodgers of Hyattsville, Md., Leonard of Clearfield and Bernard of Altoona; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers and a sister, Clarence, Merrill and Mrs. Chester Thompson of the city and Miles of Port Matilda. Mr. Hoover was a member and trustee of the Grace Methodist Church, member of the Willing Workers Bible Class and Methodist Laymen, the Port Matilda Odd Fellows and retired as a car builder for the P.R.R. in 1959.
