Last evening at 5.25 o'clock Thomas L. Hopkins died at the hospital, where he had been ill since April 6. He had been sick for several months. The deceased was born in Altoona May 6, 1862, being the son of John and Mary Hopkins, both deceased. Most of his life was spent in this city, but for the last seven years he has not resided in Altoona. June 20, 1889, he married Miss Mary Rowan, who, with one little daughter, survives her husband. The other surviving relatives are a sister, Miss Mary Hopkins, and a brother, Frank Hopkins, a Pennsylvania railroad policeman, both of this city. Mr. Hopkins was a nephew of the late B. J. Lynch. He was a member of St. John's Catholic church. The remains were removed to the residence of his wife's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Rowan, 1328 Seventeenth avenue, last evening. The funeral announcement will be made later. Altoona Morning Tribune, May 22, 1899
