PEARL V. HOWARD 

  Mrs. Pearl V. Howard, age 79, of Bald Eagle, R.D. 3, Tyrone, died 
Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2006 at 8:15 p.m. at the Altoona Regional Health 
Systems, Altoona Hospital Campus. 
  She was born July 12, 1927 in Bald Eagle, the daughter of John and 
Verna Kelly Way.
  On July 20, 1949 at the Bald Eagle Methodist Church she was married 
by Reverend Monte Crawford to Robert C. Howard Sr. who preceded her in 
death on January 20, 1985.
  She is survived by three children - Robert C. Howard, Jr. of 
Pittsburgh; Dr. A. Wayne Howard of Allentown and Lucinda K. Howard of 
Bald Eagle. Also surviving are three grandchildren - Morgan Howard, 
Amanda Howard and Rachel Howard and a number of nieces and nephews. She 
was preceded in death by a sister Amber Gummo and an infant brother 
Kenneth.
  Mrs. Howard attended the Grace Baptist Church. She was a graduate of 
Tyrone High School Class of 1945 and had worked as a cashier at 
McCrory's. She had served as Taylor Township Tax Collector for 20 
years. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Gideons, of the 
Bald Eagle Women's Missionary Society, of the national A.A.R.P., of the 
Bald Eagle Valley Holiness Association and had been a member of the Tax 
Collectors Association during her 20 years service as a tax collector. 
She loved her family, her flowers and taking care of her flowers.
  Funeral service for Mrs. Howard will be on Friday, Aug. 4 at 1 p.m. 
at the Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Roy Garthwaite officiating. 
Interment will follow in Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends may call at the 
Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and 
at the church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 
p.m.
