She was born September 28, 1927 in Pemberton, Huntingdon County, daughter of the late Marshall E. Hamer and Roberta Maude (Hamer). She was twice married, first on July 17, 1946 in Petersburg, to Franklin E. Noel, Sr., who died July 19, 1996, then on January 7, 2000, to Dean Hoy who survives. She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Green Avenue Tower Chapel. Mrs. Hoy was owner/operator of several canteens for the Blair County Association for the Blind and Visually Handicapped where she was also secretary for the Sunshine Society and a member of the board. She also was a member of Business Enterprise where she was owner/operator of snack bars at several locations. Surviving are two sons: Franklin E. Noel, Jr. and wife Anna May of Altoona and C. Clifford Noel and wife Marsha of Tyrone; seven grandchildren, Teresa Davis, Lori Weston, Cliff Noel, Jim Noel, Dewey Noel, Larry Noel, Brian Noel; six great-grandchildren, Victoria, Seth, Emily, Sarah, Anthony and Damien. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2006 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006 at Mauk and Yates Funeral Home, Inc., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Stewart McClelland officiating.
