Mr. Hudson was born at Shellsburg, Bedford county, January 13, 1861. When a young man he went to Roaring Spring and for more than thirty- five years he was a trusted employe [sic] of the D. M. Bare Paper Co. About three years ago ill health compelled him to resign his position. November 11, 1883, he was united in marriage with Miss Clarina Shoenfelt, of Roaring Spring. To this union four children were born, three sons and one daughter, all surviving: Alfred and Mrs. Margaret Smith, of Roaring Spring; Homer B. and Emory V., at home. His wife and one grandchild also survive. Deceased was a member of the Roaring Spring Church of God for many years; also of Model lodge No. 856, I. O. O. F., of Roaring Spring. Funeral services were conducted at the home on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, in charge of Rev. J. A. Detter, of the Church of God of Roaring Spring. Interment in Greenlawn cemetery, at Roaring Spring. Martinsburg Herald, September 21, 1917
