Hunter is Dead in Antis Township After Brief Illness J. Calvin Hunter life long and prominent citizen of Antis township, died at his home northwest of the borough Wednesday morning at 4 o'clock, death being due to heart failure after an illness of ten days. He was a life long citizen of Antis township. In early life he was engaged at farming, but later took up railroading and upon his retirement a few years ago was train master in the local yard of the Bellwood division. His activities throughout his long and useful life were confined to farming and railroading. Mr. Hunter was born March 31, 1850. He was married in 1872 to Miss Annie Nelson, who survives him with the following children: Mrs. E. W. Peters, Mrs. J. S. Lindsey, Mrs. C. I. Henshey, all of Altoona; Mrs. J. H. McKendree, of Harrisburg; Mrs. H. B. Dunmire and Mrs. Elsie Hunter, daughter-in-law, of Bellwood. A brother, Thomas Hunter, survives also 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at the home Friday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. Harry N. Walker. Interment will be in Logan Valley Cemetery. Bellwood Bulletin, September 1, 1927
