Miss Mabel Elizabeth Hunter, daughter of John B. and Nancy Gardner Hunter, died at 11:30 o'clock yesterday forenoon, after an illness extending over several months. She was born in Hollidaysburg March 7, 1890, being aged at death 26 years and 10 months. She was a graduate of the Hollidaysburg high school, class of 1908; was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and for many years taught a class in the Sunday school. She was a charter member and treasurer of the Queen Esther circle. She is survived by her parents, who reside at 825 Walnut street, Hollidaysburg, six sisters and five brothers: Helen Marie, Marion Caroline, Virginia Maud, Nancy Katharine, Dorothy Jane, Jean Christine, Henry Hale, John Robert, Matthew Simpson, Maxwell White and Richard Allen. Funeral services will be conducted in the Hollidaysburg Methodist Episcopal church tomorrow afternoon at 2:30. Interment in the Presbyterian cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Tuesday Morning, January 9, 1917 Hollidaysburg Obituary The funeral of Miss Mabel Elizabeth Hunter took place yesterday afternoon, the services being held at the Methodist Episcopal church and largely attended by the sorrowing friends and relatives of the deceased young woman. An impressive and eloquent sermon was preached to the memory of the departed one. A fitting prayer was offered up by the pastor and appropriate hymns were sung by the choir. There were many and beautiful floral gifts from loving friends. At the conclusion of the services, the cortege proceeded to the Presbyterian cemetery, where interment was made.
