Hunter, 925 Third avenue, this morning at 11:50 o'clock, of general debility and diseases incident to old age. He had been ailing for the past two years. The deceased was born in County Durham, England, seventy-three years ago. He came to this country in 1854? And took up his residence in Schuylkill county. In 1875 he came to this city and entered the employ of the Pennsylvania railroad company as a machinist. For a number of years he had been a gang foreman under Foreman Peter Moore. On the 7th of last March he was compelled to relinquish his work on account of failing health, and since then he was unable to resume his occupation. Mr. Hunter was highly esteemed by all those who knew him, especially by the men under his charge. He was a member of the Episcopal church. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. A. Bentley, of Carbondale; Ralph T. Hunter of this city; Mrs. M. E. Pierson, of Susquehanna, and Miss Sadie J. Hunter, residing with her brother, at 925 Third avenue. Altoona Mirror, December 14, 1896
