As was briefly noted in Tuesday's Herald; Thomas Hunter, one of the oldest residents of the county, died at 6.45 o'clock Monday evening, at his home on the hill, Bellwood, aged almost 93 years, of general debility, due to his advanced years. Mr. Hunter was married twice. His first wife was Sarah Lyle, who died in 1856. He was married the second time to Miriam Carter, who died in 1890. He is survived by one brother, David G. Hunter, of Butler, Pa., and the following children: Robert L., of Harrisburg; James s. and Mrs. W. C. Tussey, of Iowa; William, of Kansas; Mrs. I. F. Radabaugh, of Tulsa, Okla.; Mrs. J. A. Sheppard, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. E. F. Fleck, of Tyrone; Mrs. B. W. Roller, of Williamsburg; Mrs. H. _. Tussey, of Altoona; Misses Bertha and Floy, at home. Thomas Hunter was born in Antis township, April 23, 1819, and lived all his long life in the community where he was born, residing for seventy years on his farm near Tipton. He was a member of the Presbyterian church of Bellwood and until failing in health was always a regular attendant at church services. In politics he was a staunch Democrat. He had voted at every presidential election since 1840 and never missed but one or two local elections. He always took a great interest in local affairs and frequently served the township in an official capacity. The funeral service will be held at his late home at 2.30 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
