JOHN R. HURD

A native of Altoona, died yesterday at the City hospital, St. Louis, 
Mo.  Mr. Hurd was born in Altoona Jan. 22, 1896, a son of Thomas W. and 
Laura V. (Rakestraw) Hurd.  He was of the Methodist faith, and member 
of Juniata lodge F. & A.M.  Mr. Hurd was a veteran of World war I. 
Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Bertha Nixon of Altoona.  Friends will be 
received at the Hickey funeral home after 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.
